DEAR READERS…. It is getting to be ‘that time of year’ when the Frechettes’ start winding down in Key West and begin to get ready to leave for our Chippewa Lake, Ohio homes…. dear Rose Cottage awaits and also our new historic and restored home, The Chateau de La Rose at 5 Bungalow Bay Blvd.  The restoration is done but we have to unpack, hang pictures, finish lots of odds and ends, landscape, decide what from Rose Cottage goes into #5, and finally settle in and actually reside there!!!!  We had a glorious season here in Key West…. we have loved seeing all our friends and have enjoyed so many wonderful events, shows, celebrations, and thankfully we have had the health and energy to partake in a myriad of activities.  Because of our travel schedule en route to Ohio, I ask that you please understand that I cannot guarantee that this missive will be arriving as regularly as it has this past season.  Please stay in touch and keep me informed of any bit of important news.  You can text me at 305-393-6273 and at 5 Bungalow Bay Blvd. and or 62 Bungalow Bay Blvd., Chippewa Lake, Ohio 44215.    Love to ALL…and thanks for the 2023-24 Memories……Lynda

ANNE MCKEE PASSES AWAY,….For weeks I have suggested that those who knew and cared for Anne McKee, one of Key West’s Grande Dames, and one of the sweetest persons EVER…to please take time and visit her at Palm Vista.  Sadly, Anne passed away, her daughter Marie at her side, on May 19th at age 100.  No service is planned for her  here… I hope you saw the wonderful article and the Obituary in the Citizen.  Please continue to keep ANNE MCKEE and her family in your thoughts and prayers.  This is the third of our wonderful Grande Ladies whom we have lost in the last couple of months….. SHIRLEY FREEMAN….. MARY ANN WORTH… AND …ANNE MCKEE. These fine Ladies left us all a rich and great Legacy. 

RENOWNED KW ARTIST, RICK WORTH…. is also residing at the Rehab Center, in Room 121. I KNOW he too, would welcome a visit or a card or note.  He is making slow process after his stroke awhile back.  Note also that if you visit Rick, do not bring food as he is on a feeding tube.

John will be Fr. Christopher Marino who has been the Pastor at The Cathedral in Miami.  He will say his first Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea on Father’s Day, June 16th.

CONGRATS TO GAYLA MORGAN….Ultra talented singer, musician, playwright and lyricist, Gayla Morgan  has good news to share.  Her musical, MARY-A MUSICAL, will have a 2 week developmental workshop in North Hollywood  in July of 2024…thanks to Jessica Schneiderman of modern Opera Company in Los Angeles, who will help move this project forward.    Now we can only hope and pray that more good things happen with this musical that Gayla has given her heart to.

FLAMINGLES IN KEY WEST!  The Butterfly Conservatory in KW has two gorgeous Flamingos, Rhett and Scarlett.  Did you know that this fabulous spot presents After Hours ‘Flamingles’?  Our daughter, Melissa Lang, is employed at the Conservatory and she is one of the presenters of the Flamingles.  Those who want The Flamingle Experience sit quietly in the Conservatory  Gazebo,  and Rhett & Scarlett are brought out of their oasis, and to the Gazebo where they ‘flamingle’ with the people who sit perfectly still… while THEY ‘do their thing’ with each person.  It is great fun and quite an experience.  Think of this as a special gift for someone!  Book early as these have become very popular!
