SAYING FAREWELL TO BUNNIE SMITH….My friend, Bunnie Smith, who has been an integral part of my life here in Key West for many years. is embarking on a new adventure in Jacksonville, FL.  I join her legions of fans and friends who will miss her very much.  My heart is especially heavy as I was not able to attend the great party planned to celebrate Bunnie on Friday, May 17.  I woke up sicker than a dawg on Thursday, coughing, wheezing, splitting headache, dry heaves… awful!  It got worse and worse throughout the day, and I was sure it was Covid.  I had a terrible night and early Friday morning I went to the urgent care only to find out I did not have Covid… but a severe bronchial infection and was forbade to go out for at least the next four days…that I was contagious and it would not be a good idea to infect everyone.  So….you can imagine how challenging it was not to be there with my friend Bunnie and all our mutual friends and this big day.  (Special thanks to Claire Carroll for reading my ‘letter’ to Bunnie at this event.)  I hear it was a wonderful celebration… a real ‘love in’ for Bunnie who has made a huge impact on so many lives here.  We all join together in wishing Bunnie a marvelous new life in Jax.  Her presence here has been a great one….and she has helped make Key West a better place for us all.  And of course, we will always welcome her HOME to Key West with open arms and open hearts!  

WELCOME TO KEY WEST…CLAIRE LOUISE CARROLL AND STEVE GURMIN…. We are so excited that Claire and Steve, who now live in England, will be spending some time here on the Island that embraced them when they lived here awhile back.!!!

ALSO… WELCOME BACK TO KEY WEST FOR A BRIEF VISIT…. MICHAEL CITRO & EDDIE DOZIER…This great couple moved away quite awhile ago, but their memory lingers on!  They will only be here till May 23….Staying at The Gardens Hotel, they are here primarily for some needed R & R!  Keep Michael in your prayers as he is dealing with some health issues.  Thank you.
